The reconstruction of the National Road nr 12 (DK12) within Chelm administrative boundaries
The subject of the Project is the reconstruction of the National Road nr 12 (DK12) within Chelm administrative boundaries.
The material scope of the Project includes reconstruction of the surface of the City section in Chelm and covering the following Streets: Podgorze, Rejowicka, Aleja Przyjazni, Rampa Brzeska and Wschodnia.
The total length of the reconstruction section is 8,159 km.
The aim of the Projects is to improve the connection Germany – Poland – Ukraine corridor (section of DK12 that is the subject of the Project belongs to the European TEN-T), including:
- improving the quality of DK12 pavement in the urban section and adaption to the standard of the 115 kN/ axle.
- reducing the overall loss of time by increasing the smoothness of diving and reducing the phenomenon of road congestion,
- reducing vehicle operating costs,
- reduction of external costs of transport (exhaust emission, noise),
- improving the quality of live in the City,
- improving road safety.
The scope of the investment includes the reconstructions of DK12 with intersections of pedestrian asylum.
The Project also includes:
- execution of islands dividing the middle segregating traffic, separating left turns,
- construction/reconstruction of service roads, individual exits,
- construction/reconstruction of pedestrian roues,
- construction/reconstruction of bicycle paths,
- construction/reconstruction of lighting,
- reconstruction of the drainage system,
- construction/reconstruction of the traffic lights,
- clearance of colliding greenery,
- construction of green belts,
- reconstruction of bridge structures,
- introduction of road safety elements.
Project completion date 31 December 2021.
