Expansion and upward extension of the building of the Regional Center for Cultural Animation in Zielona Góra with the restoration of the historic park
The former villa of the German industrialist Hermann Sucker has served the Lubuskie culture since the 1960s. For 20 years now it has been the seat of the Regional Center for Cultural Animation. The whole project is divided into two parts. The first one concerns the thorough renovation of the villa of the German manufacturer Hermann Sucker, the headquarters of the Regional Center for Cultural Animation, built in 1903. The second element is the expansion of other Regional Center for Cultural Animation facilities and the development of the adjacent park. The buildings will be adapted for the needs of new activities and changing the profile of the institutions’ functioning. They will house interactive and innovative spaces for cultural education programmes for children, young people and adults. There will be a lot of novelties – an Incubator of Creative Industries (with specialist labs), realization of educational and animation programmes, designing of activities in the field of culture and social economy, MEDIALAB, i.e. the first research and educational workshop in the region combining art, design and technology that uses digital media to study cultural resources. In addition, SOCLAB, a cultural research programme for improving the skills of the Lubuskie culture community. The historic park will also be revitalized. Cultural products of high tourist potential will be created: Culture Park and Educational Route. The main objective of the project is to increase the number of people benefiting from cultural heritage in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, including the city of Zielona Góra. www: rcak.pl
