A small social cinema being an opportunity for the development of cultural resources in the municipalities of the Association of Municipalities and Poviats of Wielkopolska Region
The main objective of the project was to increase the cultural attractiveness of the Region by creating a network of small social cinemas, which is supposed to bridge the gap between home cinema and commercial network cinemas. Small Social Cinemas are small cinema halls equipped with professional audiovisual equipment providing high image quality and surround sound. The Cinemas are supposed to strengthen the cultural development of the Region, bind neighbourly bonds and to serve the residents, who have been so far largely isolated from the cultural offer at such a high level. As part of the project, the current public infrastructure premises by darkening and soundproofing them, have been adapted to function as multimedia rooms. In addition, in the adapted rooms, among others, the electrical installation, window and door woodwork have been replaced, as well as platforms for cinema seats have been made. The next stage of the undertaking was to equip the rooms with professional audiovisual equipment, cinema seats, blackout curtains, equipment for air conditioning and ventilation. As a result of the project implementation across Wielkopolska Region, four intimate social cinemas have been established (in Mieścisko, Strzałków, Stare Miasto and Rychwał). They enable residents to use cultural goods and social integration.
