Expansion of the existing waste sorting line with a mechanical and biological waste treatment system (composting and stabilization), involving the construction of a Waste Segregation and Waste Management Plant in Wałbrzych at ul. Beethovena
A statistical Pole produces approx. 300 kilograms of communal waste per year and even though this is a much lower ratio than in case of an average European Union citizen, where this volume totals at approx. 450 kilograms, there is really nothing to be proud of. We need to cope with these piles of waste.
One of the methods is segregation so that as much secondary raw materials as possible could be recovered, processed and reused. Wałbrzych hosts a new Segregation and Waste Management Plant which is located in an undeveloped area of communal landfill. Construction of warehouses, a sorting hall with sorting cabins designated for cleaning waste, as well as a state-of-the-art sorting line with a system of mechanical and biological processing of waste cost over PLN 24 million. Social premises, processing workshop for large-size waste were also built further to installing devices for composting and a selective collection point. Each year the plant will process 50 thousand tonnes of waste.
