Purchase of flat wagons for intermodal transport by PKP CARGO S.A.
The project involves the purchase, by PKP CARGO S.A. of 936 flat wagons for intermodal transport with 3 different constructions and cargo lengths (including 324 Sgmmns 40` series wagons, 468 Sggrs 80` series wagons and 144 Sggmrs 90` series wagons). All wagons purchased under the project are compliant with the Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI), i.e. TSI – WAG (wagons) and TSI – NOI (noise). They have braking systems equipped with K-type composite brake blocks. They can be easily used in international transport in railway networks with the 1435 mm gauge.
Sgmmns series – 4-axle wagon with the cargo length of 40`, with a mandrel system allowing for transport of 20`, 40` and 30` containers. Wagon loading capacity – 70t (two 20`35t containers). Maximum speed 120 km/h.
Sggrs series – 6-axle articulated wagon with the cargo length of 80`, with a mandrel system allowing for transport of containers in the configuration: 4 x 20`, 2 x 40` and 2 x 30`. Maximum speed 120 km/h.
Sggrs series – 6-axle articulated wagon with the cargo length of 90`, with a mandrel system allowing for transport of containers in the configuration: 4 x 20`, 2 x 40`, 2 x 30` and 2 x 45`. Maximum speed 120 km/h.
The flat wagon purchase project will make it possible to increase the share of container transport in total freight transport. The new rolling stock will increase PKP CARGO S.A.’s operational capabilities and expand its logistic services, which will ensure comprehensive service for PKP CARGO S.A.’s customers.
