Olsztynek & Kaliningrad project will unite two institutions that have a common historical episode, but which have never worked together before. As a result of the project, both beneficiaries will be able to improve the attractiveness and accessibility of their facilities to increase the number of visitors and tourists, develop new modern tourist products, and personalize and promote the experience of adapting historical sites to the tourist industry. Project involves the development of two routes in the territories of the beneficiaries. They will be dedicated to the common historical past – the ethnographic museum in the Koenigsberg (now Kaliningrad) zoo, which historical objects were removed in 1942 to Olsztynek and became the basis for an ethnographic park & museum. The ethnographic museum in Olsztynek (Beneficiary) will: 1- improve its exhibitions by constructing a copy of the historic building of the Tolkiny stables, which wii not just become a historical exposition object, but it will also but an object for storage and presentation of museum items; 2 – develop a unique historical-educational route on the ethnographic museum with audio-guide and mobile app; 3 – develop technical documentation for to build two lost objects – Pempen (Malaya Litva) and Gilge (former East Prussia). The main beneficiary revitalizes the territory of the former museum in the Kaliningrad Zoo and one of its parts will become a convenient reaction zone, free for visitors, where the route will be located with the inclusion of historical stands (three languages – Russian, English, Polish) and objects of augmented reality that will bring back an ethnographic museum for visitors to the Kaliningrad Zoo; two design project for animals will be developed (“Siberia and Far East” and mixed species exhibit with bears and wolves), joint conference “Old buildings – new meanings” will let specialists from two regions share experience & ideas on cultural sites presevation and modern usa
