Maybe the weekend on a bike?

Maybe the weekend on a bike?

If you are wondering how and where spend the summer weekend, we have a proposal for you.

We invite you to the Polish-Czech borderland, to the southern part of the Śląskie Voivodeship and the north-eastern part of the Moravian-Silesian region. It is an extremely picturesque area that you can visit while traveling by bicycle. You can start the rip in Ustroń, from there go to Cieszyn, then drive to the Czech side and visit Karviná. From Karvina, you can return to Polish side, to Racibórz. This route, almost 160 km long, was covered by the participants of the INTERREG 2019 CZ-PL bicycle rally. We encourage you to watch the film from the trip, which was organized by the Ministry of Investment and Development.

If you prefer shorter routes, we recommend the Żelazny Szlak Rowerowy (Iron Bike Track). It is a loop over 43 km long and connecting Godów – Jastrzębie Zdrój – Zebrzydowice – Petrovice u Karvine and Karvina. A few years ago, the local governments of these cities decided to build this route and are consistently implementing this plan. Part of the bicycle route leads along former trackages. There are boards installed on the route, which inform how the railway affected the lives of the inhabitants of these areas. The trail is expanded and is very popular among locals and tourists.

The construction of the Żelazny Szlak Rowerowy is financed from the INTERREG Czech Republic-Poland Programme funds.
