Quay Reconstruction in Port of Gdynia Stage I Romanian Quay – Phase I
The project is located in the Port of Gdynia on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea. The Port of Gdynia is situated in the northern part of Pomerania Province, at the Gdańsk Bay, in the Gdynia Municipality. The investment under the project will be located in the eastern part of the Port of Gdynia, in an area designated for development of transhipment functions. The Romanian Quay is located in the Port of Gdynia, forming the north-eastern enclosure of Basin V.
The project is one of many investments in port infrastructure in the document titled “Port of Gdynia Development Strategy to 2015”.
The reconstruction of the quay will result in increased transshipment capacity of the Port of Gdynia. It is important to create favourable conditions for the development and increase of transshipments, which at the same time will improve the competitiveness of Polish sea ports in the Baltic Sea Region. The project will also make it possible to establish new routes within Motorways of the Sea.
