Protecting human rights of persons with disabilities and creating opportunities for them to explore the unique cultural and architectural heritage of the cities of Lviv and Przemysl
Lviv and Przemysl, being important cultural and historical centers of Polish-Ukrainian cross-border region and popular tourist destinations, are expected to follow EU guidelines. Nevertheless, the problem of servicing the persons with disabilities persists, particularly since museums and architectural landmarks are often not accessible for such persons. The lack of training and hands-on experience in servicing this category of tourists is also an issue. Project overall objective is to create attractive tourist routes for the visually impaired and blind persons, as well as for the persons who use wheelchairs, and to enchance their opportunities to explore the unique cultural and architectural heritage of Lviv and Przemysl. The main products: 1. Adaptation of tourist routes in Lviv and Przemysl to the needs of persons with disability: development of technical and financial documentations. 2.To train approximately 100 accredited tour guides to work with persons with disabilities. 3.To encourage the travel agencies to plan tourist routes in the vicinity of Lviv and Przemysl with special consideration of the persons with various types of disabilities. 4.To conduct joint promotion of Lviv and Przemysl as the cities friendly to the persons with disabilities.
