perspective
2014 - 2020

Ciechocinek brine graduation towers are a unique technical monument of the European community  and therefore they require special care and promotion. It was necessary to undertake actions aimed at carrying out the necessary renovation works in order to stop the processes of their degradation as well as to undertake actions that would consolidate and fully expose the historical and architectural values of the monument. The need to implement the project resulted directly from the current technical condition of the graduation towers, insufficient development of the areas around them and the existence of architectural barriers.

The complex of three graduation towers in Ciechocinek is the largest wooden structure in Europe used for the brine evaporation. It is a key element of the Ciechocinek cooking salt, sludge and therapeutic lye production line.

The Ciechocinek brine graduation towers are three impressive horseshoe-shaped buildings with a total length of 1741.5 m and a height of 15.8 m. The structure of the graduation towers consists of nearly 7,000 oak piles, on which a spruce-pine structure filled with blackthorn is placed. The graduation complex was built in the years 1824-28 (graduation tower no. 1 and 2) and 1859 (graduation tower no. 3) according to the design of Professor Jakub Graff.

The list of Historical Monuments includes objects of special material and intangible values and of exceptional importance for the Polish history and culture.

After the investment completion, the residents of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, tourists, patients and enterprises will be the recipients of the Health Resort Ciechocinek S.A. activities recipients of the activities.

The investment includes the renovation of graduation towers no. 1 and no. 3 and the brine pumping station building, as well as the paths and the area next to the graduation towers and the pumping station. Gardening works on green areas will also be carried out and an installation will be constructed to illuminate the graduation towers in the evening hours. The investment implementation will contribute to the employment growth through self-employment or creation of new jobs.
