Social economy - a guidepost for social development II
Realization of the project “Social economy – a guidepost for social development” took in excess of three years to implement. The project was realized by the Regional Centre of Social Policy in Lublin. The produced results encouraged continuation of the project.
The RCSP understood significance of the social economy sector as well as the need for providing it with systematic support. Therefore the project was primarily aimed at boosting cooperation operations conducted by the RCSP in the field of social economy. Coordinating development of social economy and support systems for social economy sector are understood as determining the directions for development of this sector and including it in the provincial development strategies. This particularly concerns the areas related to the labour market, social integration, entrepreneurship development, public utility services as well as all the areas where social economy entities may discover their niche.
RCSP realizes tasks involving animating and influencing the social economy environment, in particular local government units, and supporting the existing social economy entities. The major component of coordinating tasks is advocacy and the RCSP acting on behalf of social economy community and specific groups of entities before various institutions on regional and national levels. One component of advocacy is providing a space for engaging in dialogue and animating debates in the region concerning social economy development and developing joint regional stance on the subject of social economy.
Improving quality standards of social services is possible only in cooperation with various entities. Thus it is indispensable to support actions taken in the region as well as provide implementation tools incl. ready solutions which will prepare local services coordinators to efficiently manage and realize public tasks.
The goals presented by the RCSP are:
- Reinforcing cooperation network for Public Employment Services (PES), Public Services (PS) and Social Economy Centres (SEC);
- initiating cooperation between local government units (LGU) and PES;
- developing responsible local communities which adhere to social clauses and engage in actions in the field of social services development and spread the idea of social economy.
The project assumes realization of complex actions satisfying the identified needs and meeting challenges in the area of social economy coordination on the regional level. In order to ensure efficient completion of these tasks the cooperation within the framework of SEC network has been strengthened.
The principal tasks realized under the project:
- Social economy-friendly local government
- Professionalization of PES cooperation – networking
- Popularizing and promoting social economy.
- Determining directions for development of social economy on the regional level.
