Preserving and protecting the environment, promoting the efficient management of water resources, and preventing and managing flood risk by improving the flood safety of the Oświęcim Junction.

The above mentoined goals will be achieved through: construction of 1 device for the purposes of flood protection (pumping station on the Pławianka stream), reconstruction of 1 device for flood protection purposes (expansion of the retention and equalization reservoir on the Gromiecki Stream along with the expansion of the Gromiec pumping station), construction of 0.380 km of new flood embankments and reconstruction of 9.504 km of existing embankments.
The overriding goal is flood protection of areas located in the so-called “Oświęcim junction”.
