Rehabilitation of children with spine disease from classes I-VI in the city of Radom
The main objective of the project was to improve the health of children with spinal disease by increasing the availability of health care services in the form of prevention and rehabilitation of children’s posture defects in the city of Radom. The project assumed at least paying special attention to the early detection of developmental defects. For this, it was necessary to involve parents/guardians, physiotherapists as well as primary care physicians and nurses. The main element of the project was the participation of children in group, preventive corrective gymnastics classes conducted at the Rehabilitation Department of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship Occupational Medicine Center in Radom by qualified physiotherapists. An additional component of the project was the participation of MWOMP psychologists, who motivated children to exercise through talks, games and fun. As part of the project, such tasks were carried out as: qualification of participants for the project, information and educational activities of the groups covered by the support and therapeutic intervention. MWOMP provided support through information and promotion activities, developing the habit of correct posture and learning exercises to be carried out by project participants on their own after the end of the project. The project was expected to end by the end of 2020. reducing the incidence of body posture defects and serious deformities of the spine, increasing knowledge in the field of pro-health behaviors and a healthy lifestyle. The goals of the project have been achieved. The project involved 60 children from grades 1-6 of primary schools, 60 parents/guardians and 10 primary care physicians/nurses.
