Revitalization of the park in Supraśl
In June 2017, Supraśl was hit by an intense storm, during which the local city park was destroyed. The storm knocked down many valuable tree species, and the park itself became gloomy and unattractive to visitors. This event became the basis for the reconstruction and modernization of the park, which is now extremely popular among the inhabitants of Supraśl and surrounding towns.
After the storm, archaeological work began in the park. Traces of the alleys of the 18th-century Basilian Garden were discovered there. They became the base around which revitalization was planned.
The actions taken were not limited only to renovating alleys and planting trees. A graduation tower was also built along with the necessary technological installations, a recreational shelter, a reading corner, a toilet and many elements of small architecture, including new, solid benches.
A number of necessary technological works were also carried out, including: electrical, lighting, sewage and water installations.
According to the design, the park is divided into two parts – representative – centered around the White Eagle monument, commemorating the inhabitants of Supraśl who died in the fight for a free Poland in 1914-1920 – and recreational, with a brine graduation tower in the Center.
The project is part of the physical, economic and social revitalization of marginalized areas in urban areas and is part of the local revitalization program of the Supraśl commune for 2017-2023.
