Budowa zbiornika retencyjnego Włodzienin na rzece Troi , Gmina Branice i Gmina Głubczyce
Wybudowany zbiornik retencyjny “Włodzienin” jest usytuowany na rzece Troi, w której przy większych opadach deszczu bądź nagłych roztopach, następuje gwałtowny przybór wód w korycie.
Celem inwestycji było rozwiązanie problemu zagrożenia powodziowego terenów przyległych do rzeki Troi oraz deficytu wodnego występującego w znacznym stopniu w rolnictwie, na terenie gmin: Branice, Głubczyce i Kietrz.
Realizacja projektu stanowiła jeden z elementów całego systemu małej retencji w województwie opolskim i miała za zadanie ograniczyć negatywne skutki ewentualnej powodzi.
Ponadto, budowa zbiornika zapewniła retencję powodziową, która umożliwiła znaczne obniżenie przepływów poniżej zbiornika, a tym samym zwiększenie skuteczności istniejącego systemu ochrony. Po wybudowaniu zbiornika, nastąpiła redukcja fali powodziowej – co najmniej o 25 proc. i przesunięcie kulminacji fali o 16 godzin. Pozwala to na bezpieczne przejście korytem fali powodziowej przez tereny zabudowane gminy Branice i gminy Kietrz.
Zbiornik może spełniać zadania związane z zaopatrzeniem w wodę okolicznych gospodarstw rolnych, a także żeglugą rekreacyjną. Ponadto, przyczynia się bezpośrednio do poprawy systemu ochrony przeciwpowodziowej dla regionu, poprzez zapewnienie ochrony rzeki Odry, a tym samym terenów aglomeracji opolskiej.
