"Reconstruction of the amphitheater in Sieradz"
The Old Town Park – one of four in the city and the oldest among them – is a favorite place of rest for the residents of Sieradz. It was founded in 1825 on the slope of the Warta river valley, and its area is over 4 hectares. In addition to the obvious recreational values, the park also provides cultural attractions. Here, in the amphitheater built in the 1970s, for 2,500 spectators, from spring to autumn interesting cultural events take place: concerts, performances, film screenings and many, many more. Until recently, there were events under the cloud in the literal sense of the word, because the object was not roofed. It happened that even the most-interesting events were condemned to failure, chasing away the most persistent spectators. No wonder that the project of the partial roofing of the amphitheater was received with joy. The tarpaulin made of artificial material is stretched on a modular steel structure, thanks to which the roof can be expanded. As part of the project, the roof over the stage was repaired and extended, and a warm layer was laid on its surface, thus isolating the rooms located under the stage. Thanks to the changes, the comfort of viewers, service staff and artists has increased. The rebuilt amphitheater gained the conditions for developing the cultural offer, and thus – gaining more and more audience.
