Dynamic Passenger Information System version II
The overall objective of the “Dynamic Passenger Information System version II” project is to make better use of low-emission urban transport through the development and integration of public collective transport in the area of Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowska Metropolia (GZM), and the improvement of the public transport management system.
The extension of the existing dynamic passenger information system contributed to:
- raising the level of passenger ratings of public transport organized in GZM and its functional area,
- increasing the safety of travelling,
- improving the system for GZM’s public transport offer management,
- integrating the transport system in GZM,
- reducing the impact of public transport on the environment, as a result of reducing low emissions.
The material scope of the project included:
- development of technical documentation for the extension of the system including the necessary approvals,
- delivery and assembly (including connections) of equipment at bus or tram stops – 462 electronical dynamic information boards,
- delivery and assembly of vehicle equipment,
- integration with the existing SDIP and ŚKUP systems and other Intelligent Transportation System in the Central Subregion of the Voivodeship of Silesia (at the level of information transfer),
- delivery of the mobile application for passengers.
This project was implemented between 2017-2022.
