The Carpathian Mountains – the land of migratory fishes
The main objective of the project is collaborative promotion of the globally unique fish migrations and spawning in the mountain streams and rivers of both Sanok and Zhydachiv Districts. Implementation of the project will be commenced with a conference involving, among other things, a presentation of the project scope. This will be followed by trainings in water resources protection. From the 1st to 3rd quarters of the project, a promotional educational film will be produced and materials for a popular science book will be collected. Effects and results of the project will be summarized at a conference in the 4th quarter. Two main products will be made as part of the project, i.e. a publication promoting the nature of the mountain streams and rivers in the supported area, and a film. The main theme of the film will be the migration of the common nase to the spawning grounds located in the upper parts of mountain streams. By showing the effective spawning of this fish species, the project will promote the natural values of the water reservoirs located within the two districts, increasing the attractiveness of the region
