Reservoirs and polders - Jeziorsko reservoir - modernization of the weir
The subject of the project is to carry out a comprehensive renovation of the overflow weir in the front dam of the Jeziorsko water reservoir. The weir is designed to regulate the water flow and is located in the central part of the dam, at km 1 + 264. Thanks to the efficient operation of the weir, the reservoir fulfills a retention function and ensures flood safety (protection against flood and drought).
The project involves the implementation of the following tasks: construction works, environmental supervision, information and promotion.The aim of the project is to increase flood safety by improving the technical condition and operating conditions of the overflow weir, thanks to which it will be possible to obtain reliable and proper operation of the entire facility, especially when passing flood waters through the weir. Achieving the assumed goal will be possible through the performance of works consisting in the renovation of individual devices functionally related to the overflow weir, i.e. hydrotechnical, control, electrical or mechanical, and the vision system, having a direct impact on the reliability of the facility and the related flood safety of the facility itself, as well as areas located below the Reservoir.
The project will be in line with the concept of universal design – no new infrastructure will be created as part of the project. The implementation of the task has a significant impact on the direction of generally accessible tourist and recreational traffic in the areas of natural value and lying around the reservoir, creating favorable conditions for the entire society.
