Electrification of public transport lines in Zielona Góra
The project “Electrification of public transport lines in Zielona Góra” POIS.06.01.00-00-0059/19 is implemented as part of Measure 6.1 Development of public collective transport in cities priority axis VI Development of low-emission collective transport in cities of the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment 2014 – 2020 .
The grant agreement No. POIS.06.01.00-00-0059/19-00 was signed on January 30, 2020.
The subject of the project is an investment in public transport infrastructure in Zielona Góra, contributing to the reduction of environmental pollution and improving passenger transport activities.
The project is being implemented in stages, in accordance with the following list:
- Construction of a bus terminus on the os. Masurian together with the delivery and installation of electric bus charging stations and the necessary infrastructure. Construction of an access road to the bus terminus on the estate Mazurskie along with the reconstruction of the section of ul. Giżycka, approx. 136 m long, with a bituminous surface.
- Expansion of the charging infrastructure for electric buses on loops at ul. Zawadzkiego “Zośki” and ul. Botaniczna and the purchase and installation of a charging station at the bus depot at ul. chemical.
- Delivery of brand new electric low-floor solo city buses.
- Delivery of brand new electric low-floor articulated city buses.
- Promotion of the project.
The main task of the project is to reduce the negative impact of public transport on the environment and the health of the inhabitants of the functional area of the city of Zielona Góra. This will be achieved by replacing part of the existing diesel-powered public transport fleet in Zielona Góra with emission-free electric-powered rolling stock. The project involves the purchase of:
- 4 18-metre buses (articulated),
- 8 12-metre buses (solo).
Construction of a bus terminus on the estate Mazurskie, together with the delivery and assembly of the electric bus charging station and the necessary infrastructure, will include the preparation of a construction design as well as the performance of construction and assembly works for the task of building a bus terminus on the os. Mazury and the installation of an electric bus charging station along with the necessary infrastructure.
Thanks to the project, the level of electrification of the city fleet will increase to 55 electric buses, which in total will constitute 62% of the total bus fleet in Zelona Góra. Such a significant electrification of the city fleet will contribute to a significant reduction of exhaust fumes to the air and noise to the environment from public transport.
The project is consistent with the objective of Priority Axis VI, which is greater use of low-emission urban transport through the development and integration of public collective transport systems in cities. Thanks to the actions taken, the automotive congestion in cities will be reduced, traffic flow will improve and the negative impact of transport on the natural environment in cities and their functional areas will be reduced.
