perspective
2014 - 2020

n response to the declaration of an epidemic threat and with a focus on protecting the health and safety of residents in the Mazovian Voivodeship, as well as limiting the spread of COVID-19, the project titled “Enhancing the Capacity of Medical Rescue Teams and Medical and Sanitary Transport Teams in Combating COVID-19” was implemented. This project, designed to address the urgent needs of the region, was based on the provisions of the Act of March 2, 2020, on special solutions for the prevention, counteraction, and control of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.

The primary goal of the project was to improve access to healthcare services by strengthening rescue support across the Mazovian Voivodeship, particularly in light of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, from February 1, 2020, to July 31, 2022. The project was carried out in partnership with five Emergency Medical Services and Sanitary Transport Stations, which covered the entire voivodeship to ensure comprehensive and rapid response to crisis situations.

The project applicant and its partners, based within the Mazovian Voivodeship, established project offices at their locations. The scope of services within the project was thoroughly defined in collaboration with the Mazovian Voivodeship, both at the stage of creating the project outline and in the process of submitting the funding application. The coordination of activities was managed by the Project Team, appointed by the Mazovian Voivodeship Marshal’s Order No. 232/20 on April 16, 2020.

The project funded the ongoing needs of partners, supporting their efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The implementation followed an extraordinary procedure in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy on April 22, 2020.

Thanks to this project, the Mazovian Voivodeship was better equipped to effectively counter the threats associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
