Construction of a link between the A4 motorway junction in Wierzchosławice and the Tarnów Business Zone (SAG)
The longest bridge in the Małopolska region has been built in Wierzchosławice near Tarnów. An 815-metre-long crossing linked the A4 motorway in Wierzchosławice with the Tarnów Business Zone (SAG) The structure completes the list of the ten longest road bridges in Poland (as of 01.12.2024).
The total length of the structure is 815.6 m and the width varies from 13.9 to 14.35 m. The crossing includes an 8.3 m wide carriageway, a route for pedestrians and cyclists (3.8 m) and a technical shoulder (1.8 m). The bridge has 12 spans, the main one (185 m) being directly over the Dunajec River.
The EU-funded project included not only the construction of the bridge, but also access roads (2.6 km) a junction with a district and commune road, a route for pedestrians and cyclists along the entire length of the route and lighting.
The project has relieved the traffic congestion in Wierzchosławice, which until now absorbed transit traffic from the motorway. The city of Tarnow and the nearby SAG have also benefited from its implementation – the new link has ensured proper transport services and safety for residents.
