The Warsaw Metropolitan Police (WMP) Has completed the implementation of the Project en titled: “Adaptation of equipment resources for improving Road traffic safety to the dynamic development of the TEN-T network” under the Operational Programme Infrastructureand Environment 2014-2020,

Under the project, the Warsaw Metropolitan Police Has purchased specialist Road traffic safety equipment, whichisused in everyday service by police officers from the Traffic Department of the capital garrison.

In the course of Project implementation, the WMP Has twice signed with the Centre for EU Transport Projects anannex to the grant agrement regarding the increasing of the material and financial scope of the project for additional purchases, including the purchase of personal protective equipment for police officers to counteract the spread of the pandemicCOVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 for the amount of PLN 900 thousand.

The following specialist road traffic safety equipment was purchased as part of the project:

  • 23 pcs. Traffic Ambulances;
  • 8 vehicles with improved technical parameters with the ability to record the behavior of traffic participants;
  • 2 Mobile Traffic Surveillance Centers (TSC);
  • equipment for the TSC, ie.: 18 unmanned aerial vehicles with the software and training for theiroperators;
  • 3 specialized tugboats.

At present, the Warsaw Metropolitan Police Has started the secondo stage of the Project en titled: “Adaptation of equipment resources for improving Road traffic safety to the dynamic development of the TEN-T network – stage II” under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020. The Project involves the purchase of heavy-duty motorcycles for Road traffic police officers with clothing and equipment, as well as equipment for control in Road traffic and for under ta king action at the scene of traffic incidents.
