Wodzisławskie Centrum Medyczne uruchamia szpital z oddziałem chirurgii naczyniowej ukierunkowany na zabiegi wewnątrznaczyniowe. Szpital został przygotowany pod względem epidemiologicznym do leczenia pacjentów zakaźnych SARS CoV-2, co stanowi odpowiedź na COVID-19. Na Śląsku nie ma takiej jednostki, co ogranicza pacjentom dostęp do usług specjalistycznych. Ponadto będzie to pierwszy szpital z oddziałem chirurgii naczyniowej w tej części regionu. Przewagę konkurencyjną szpital osiągnie przez pełną informatyzację szpitala, zarówno w części medycznej jak i zarządczej. W tym celu została określona lista koniecznego do zakupu wyposażenia oraz założenia do informatyzacji szpitala. Wnioskodawca zawarł umowy z wysokokwalifikowanymi lekarzami we właściwych dziedzinach. Szpital będzie oferował szeroki wachlarz zaawansowanych zabiegów. Powstaną 9,5 nowych miejsc pracy (w tym 4 na umowę o pracę) i wzrośnie konkurencyjność spółki. Projekt zatem wpisuje się w cele konkursu dotacyjnego.
