The establishment of a clinical haematology ward with a bone marrow transplantation center at the Warmia and Mazury Oncology Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration Hospital through reconstruction of the existing infrastructure with equipment
The project consists of the establishment of a clinical haematology department with a bone marrow transplantation center. The new unit will give patients an access to previously unused blood cancer treatment methods, such as haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The material scope of the project includes reconstruction of the existing hospital rooms with an area of approx. 1300 m2. As a result of the reconstruction, a modern 30-bed haematology ward will be created, together with a bone marrow transplantation center equipped with 6 single rooms with a patient monitoring system, meeting the requirements for isolation rooms with a very high level of room sterility. The project also encompasses complex equipment of the center created as a result of the reconstruction, including flow cytometer, bath for thawing stem cells, platelet shaker, cytoviewer, as well as USG apparatus with heart echo attachment, echocardiograph and other medical equipment necessary for the functioning of the center. The use of innovative solutions in haematological treatment will bring Poland closer to EU standards in the treatment of oncology patients. It is expected that the implementation of the project will affect the increase in the survival rate of patients affected by cancer, a better quality of life of patients, as well as provide oncology patients with greater opportunities to return to social and professional.
