Improving the quality of medical services at the Orthopedic and Trauma Department and the Oncological and General Urology Department at SP ZOZ WSZ. Jędrzej Śniadecki in Białystok
Thanks to the comprehensive renovation of trauma orthopedics as well as oncological and general urology, patients of the Provincial Complex Hospital. J. Śniadeckiego in Białystok will have much better living conditions and doctors will have better work conditions.
The urology and orthopedics departments are among the last ones still in the 1970s location. They have not been renovated for 40 years. One room had to accommodate five people. The bathrooms were located in the corridor.
Now we have beautiful conditions, single and double rooms. Truly, there is something to be envious of, said hospital director Cezary Nowosielski.
The modernized oncological and general urology ward accommodates 24 patients, and the orthopedic and trauma ward – 34. There are new orthopedic and urological beds, as well as treatment and postoperative rooms. Modern equipment was purchased, including: an X-ray machine with a C-arm for the urology department and medical equipment for orthopedics. The wards are equipped with air conditioning and adapted to the needs of the elderly and disabled.
Finally, we will work in the right conditions. Previously, we performed well over 2,000. procedures per year and I think that we will do everything to return to this intensity of work as soon as possible – said Dr. Jerzy Wojnar, doctor in charge of the orthopedic and trauma department.
The Department of Oncological and General Urology and the Department of Trauma Orthopedics at the Provincial Hospital in Białystok are very important places on the medical map of the region. On average, 1.5 thousand patients are hospitalized there each year.
