The eastern part of Polish and Ukrainian borderlands are culturally a very valuable regions. Awareness of such wealth brings the need for its protection and promotion. The project is a response to the following cross-border problems: – lack of an innovative approach to the dissemination information of historical and cultural heritage, – very low level of knowledge among the inhabitants of Lesko and Khust about the historical and cultural heritage of their city, – insufficient attention to cultural and historical heritage, – uncoordinated activities aimed at the promotion and use of cultural heritage, – very little use of the potential of cultural diversity of Polish and Ukrainian towns in cross-border cooperation aimed at preserving cultural and historical heritage. The overall objective of the project is raising the level of sustainable use of cultural and historical values by residents and tourists in the southern parts of the Polish and Ukrainian border. The project’s specific obejctives: – Creation and promotion of common tourist products based on local cultural and historical heritage. – Creation a new offer and cultural activities for residents and tourists. – Increase of level of integration between residents of the Lesko Commune and the Town of Khust. The project will create new products such as Fairs in Lesko and Khust, that will become cyclical events. Target groups: inhabitants of Lesko and Khust (about 32.000 people), local authorities’ representatives, local and regional journalists, NGOs representatives and tourist guides.
