perspective
2014 - 2020

The project is a response to the challenge of the program, which is the promotion and protection of natural heritage, and it is consistent with the Program`s strategy. The main goal of the project is the common promotion of the natural heritage of Sanok county and the Gródecki region, which are pollinating insects, in particular the honey bee, and the presentation of its special role in nature and in human life. The project, which mainly refers to children and young people, includes: conferences (2), trainings (2), promotional and informational campaign at schools in the area of Sanocki and the Gródecki region and the construction of two apiaries and houses for pollinating insects along with a demonstrational field of pollen plants. During the project, the participants will made a film about work in an apiary (in Poland and Ukraine). Schools will carry out a promotional and informational campaign on the role of pollinating insects in nature, demonstrating a special glass hive. The realisation of the project aims to make the young generation aware of the role played by pollinating insects in nature and human life, and to show their role in the reproduction of plants` species forming the so-called biodiversity as a factor conditioning the development of borderland tourism. It is expected that after the end of the project, the number of apiaries and gardens full of pollen plants will increase in a few years. It is also expected that in the gardens people will make, so called, ‘hotels’ for pollinating insects that will not require such involvement as professional beekeeping. The project realisation should make for the empowerement of the beekeeping economy position as a factor conditioning the development of the region which is based on peculiar biodiversity. The cross-border cooperation program creates opportunities for the promotion and protection of the common natural heritage, and guarantees the cohesion of the border environment for animals and plants population.
