perspective
2014 - 2020

The main goal of the project is to increase the tourist potential and access to culture for residents and tourists visiting the Capital City of Warsaw through the revitalization and modernization of the Baj Theater. The historic building at Jagiellońska 28 Street, which is in poor technical condition and has been excluded of use, will undergo the necessary modernization and renovation works.

As a result of the investment, two modern auditoriums will be created: the main hall with 180 seats in the audience and a moving stage and a chamber hall for group of 25 people. A new exhibition and educational space will also be created. The total area used for cultural purposes before the renovation was 230 m2, after the renovation it will be 330 m2, so the increase will be over 15%. There will be a large stage, a small stage, a hall for educational activities and a gallery for cultural purposes. This will allow the realization of the most extensive and modern puppet shows in Poland. Trapdoors, lighting, acoustics, mapping devices and many other elements will function using the latest technologies, thanks to which both the creators and viewers will have the opportunity to experience completely new emotions and impressions. The infrastructure will be adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. The most important architectural change will be two lifts for people with physical disabilities and an induction loop, which will be created to facilitate the reception of events for people with sight and hearing impairments. There will be a soundproofed and glazed stand for audio description as well as a quiet room for people on the autism spectrum. Additionally, the development of the cultural and educational offer is planned. Thanks to the implementation of the project, an increase in visits to cultural institutions covered by support is expected to exceed 10%. Moreover, some cultural goods at the disposal of the Theatre will be digitized and made available on the Internet.
