The project aims to develop technical infrastructure in revitalized areas to activate the local community socially and economically. It is a response to the needs identified in the Local Revitalization Program of the City of Węgrów, related to spatial and socio-economic degradation, and the lack of recreational and cultural offers for residents. The scope of the project includes the conservation renovation of the historic buildings of the former Brewery and Manufaktura, giving them new functions, and the revitalization of the Park. AK and its surroundings, in order to expand the offer of recreation and social integration in Węgrów.
The project consists of seven tasks, including the construction of communication routes, monitoring, creation of green areas and the introduction of new elements of recreational and cultural infrastructure, such as a skate park, rope park, playground, sports field and amphitheater, as well as conservation renovation of historic buildings and their equipment. Its result will be an attractive space conducive to social integration, encouraging active spending of free time through new forms of cultural and recreational activities, and enabling the organization of integration events. The target group of the project is the local community of Węgrów and people visiting this area.
The main goal of the project is to revitalize marginalized areas in Węgrów, and specific goals include providing appropriate recreational and relaxation infrastructure, preserving cultural heritage through the revitalization of historic buildings and creating space for the implementation of social and economic goals. The project is supported by the Social Cooperative “Węgrowianka” and provides local producers with better opportunities to promote regional products. In addition, it develops the cultural, recreational and leisure offer and expands the offer of organizations caring for sick and dependent people by providing space for various forms of activities.
