IN-SYMBIOSIS- Industrial Symbiosis efficiency for sustainable solutions in South Baltic area
In recent days there is a crusial need to make step forward regards green economy appliance technicues and practices, as strategically the field of circular economy is well explained, however this area still demands efficient scenarios to be practically used and commercially viable in regional ecosystems. Industrial symbiosis is about an industrial process, which allows materials to be used in a sustainable way and contributes to the creation of a circular economy. Survey, made in regional level (2020-2021), showed extreme demand for industries to investigate and discuss on scenarios of efficiently acting industrial symbiosis principles. Businesses in general they are for entering circular economy immediately once they notice about efficicient and commertially viable techniques, on how industrial symbiosis principles could be applied for their cases and how they could contribute to more efficient regionally oriented industrial symbiosis processes. However still the field of industrial symbiosis does not have prepared solutions, study visits are only individual and rare, and sharing experience of good cases is missing. There is a huge demand for partner search events, for trainings, for awareness raising in this particular industrial symbiosis field. Industries in South Baltic region are capable to swich more efficiently into industrial symbiosis solutions, exchange good practices, find new business partners, increase skills, train staff, initiate new ideas for industrial symbiosis to happen, if they are at least supported by regional experts in a field. Seed funding is needed for investigating and structuring State-Of-The-Art in this field, and developing solutions for supporting the cross-border cooperation in exchange of experiences and mutual cooperation for preparing project concept note, which is expected to be used for regular project proposal development for topic of indusrial symbiosis efficiency and share of experiences in a field.
