South Baltic Horse Tourism- South Baltic horse tourism - development of horse tourism based on cooperation, joint promotion, and offer management
Recreational riding is the simplest form of horse use and active recreation, available to people of all ages. Providing safe&sustainable conditions for horse tourism requires dedicated infrastructure, well-organised management system and the promotion activities. To develop competitive solutions, we will initiate the cooperation of :local/regional actors, environmental institutions & tourism industry. Also, the SMEs have difficulties reaching internat. markets, they deal with: insufficient knowledge, no funding, lack of tools, limited offers etc. Challenges /Opportunities -activity of many different studs concentrated around local routes, low cooperation/ exchange of experience between SME’s, stud owners, local governments and route managers -lack of monitoring & information about the horse riding routes in SBA -studs not prepared to accept larger equestrian groups using the horse routes -different perceptions of SBA horse tourismpotential(results in insufficient cooperation on all levels) -lack of networking & comprehensive horse tourism offer for domestic and foreign guests, using the natural&cultural potential of the SB region -lack of consistent,productive advertisement of horse tourism in SBA -interest of private entities(studs) in the development of horse tourism in SBA -tourists’ interest in active tourism and hippotherapy in the South Baltic. Seed money will develop a comprehensive concept paper with principles of cooperation between horse riding centres, creating a horse trail management system and building new tourist product(boosting tourism offer in the SBA). It will contain project WPs, target group’s(TG) needs,offer’s gaps & ways to overcome them via CBC. Project partners will use their experience to develop safe&secure solutions and apply innovative technologies. Regular project will create and implement pilot solutions considering needs of TG- intelligent pasture places, APPs for horse routes, safety solutions, branding for horse tourism in
