Core Concepts of Historical Thinking
The project brings together a team consisting of a project leader, three PhD students, three young postdocs, seven domestic partners, and fifteen foreign partners worldwide. With its network, the team produces a groundbreaking comparative analysis of theoretical concepts in historical thinking, covering intellectual traditions of history from twelve European languages, two Latin American languages, and six Asian languages. Each concept is translated into every language and furnished with comparative comments across all the linguistic traditions of historical thinking. The research output is disseminated on a cutting-edge multimedia digital platform. Web analytics software tracks how users of the platform interact with the produced research. The feedback data lets the team critically evaluate and steer the research foci. This helps the humanities to transcend its traditional mode of analog knowledge formation, opening it up to a polylateral mode of digital thinking.
