perspective
2021 - 2027

The project involves cross-border cooperation between St. John Paul II Mazovian Voivodeship Hospital in Siedlce Ltd. (Poland) and Communal non-commercial enterprise of the Lviv Regional Council Lviv Regional Clinical Diagnostic Center (Ukraine) in improving access to high-quality imaging diagnostics, with particular emphasis on magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography. The joint initiative responds to the problems identified in the joint strategy of the Interreg NEXT PL-UA 2021-2027 Program strategy, namely. – the growing number of people in the post-working age group, and thus the growing need for health care, – high percentage of deaths caused by cancer (26.5% in Poland and 13.4% in Ukraine) – deficiencies in the digitization of health care on the Ukrainian side. The project involves investment in public services aimed at improving the health well-being of an aging population and mitigating the effects of adverse demographic changes in the border area. The main objective of the project is to improve access to high-quality imaging diagnostics in the field of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging in the Polish-Ukrainian cross-border area. As a result of the project, the Mazovian Regional Hospital in Siedlce will modernize the premises of the Imaging Diagnostics Department, including moving a second CT scanner from an external container to its target location in the building, purchase and implement new IT equipment, stations for preparing descriptions of X-ray, CT and MRI examinations, and implement modern software for teleradiology, management of imaging results and their analysis with the possibility of using AI. The Lviv Regional Clinical Diagnostic Center, in turn, will replace an outdated MRI dating back to 2007 (the replacement will be preceded by necessary adaptation work in the laboratory premises), as well as purchase and implement equipment to create a digital archive of medical images and a call center for patient appointments.
