perspective
2021 - 2027

The T.A.B project is focused on addressing the challenges faced by smaller regions in becoming competitive and attractive in today’s global market. The project will promote and stimulate a close collaboration between partners to lift competence, knowledge transfer, and new business collaboration that will help accelerate digital innovation in our regions. The approaches, competencies, and skills of Creative and Culture Industries (CCI’s) will be fundamental to the development of new value paradigms in different sectors. This impact is already widely observed in significant changes in the way both individuals and companies use technology and communicate with each other. Collaboration is essential to achieve shared goals and allow European regions to work together addressing regional and sectoral challenges effectively in areas such as content driven digitalisation. The T.A.B consortium has identified a need to create an international cross-sectoral platform, with the possibility to discuss across countries how to establish cooperation to help our regions to become more competitive in identifying trends and innovation at a very early stage. The challenge is also to help SMEs, as the South Baltic areas economy is reliant on expansion and innovation for small- and medium-sized enterprises. A distinct pattern across the eligible area is the dominance of small enterprises, which employ 1-9 people. Many of the small enterprises constitute the vast majority of enterprises, followed by medium-sized companies, while firms employing above 50 employees most frequently represent only approx. 2% of all companies. Most of our regional actors in the Tech and CCIs sector are SMEs. The dominance of small enterprises determines their important role to the regional economy. Our aim in this project is to explore the role of “Cross-border Innovation Hubs” by testing and exploring how and which benefit it would be to set up such hubs and digital networking platforms in 5 countries.
