perspective
2021 - 2027

Hospitals in Lviv, Ternopil, and Krosno face a common challenge of limited resources, including funding, infrastructure, equipment, and skilled healthcare professionals. Unsuitable financial support impedes necessary changes and upgrades, affecting palliative, geriatric, and treatment care, as well as services for cancer patients. Quality medical care necessitates modern equipment and technologies, which are often lacking. This deficiency impacts care quality and treatment effectiveness for cancer patients. Additionally, a challenge lies in the lack of conversance and education among patients and the public about palliative care, geriatric care, and the importance of quality medical services for cancer patients. The overall objective of the project is ensuring equal access to medical care and promoting the stability of healthcare systems through improving patient care conditions, increasing bed capacity, and facilitating cross-border exchange of expertise among medical personnel in geriatric, palliative, and hospice care in hospitals of Lviv, Ternopil and Krosno. This goal can be achieved through the following specific tasks: – ensuring availability of palliative care for all sick patients due to the reconstruction of hospital premises, purchase of vehicle for transporting patients, the purchase of equipment and the increase of beds; -strengthening cooperation between medical institutions, doctors and specialists from Poland and Ukraine in the field of palliative medicine; -development of a Methodological Guidelines (in brochure format) on the unified standard of feeding a dependent patient (further – Guidelines); -beneficiary from the Polish side will share their research on nutrition for critically ill patients in the palliative care ward, including enteral and parenteral nutrition. Collaborative development of Roadmap for creating Nutrition protocols (based on
