perspective
2021 - 2027

Unfavourable socio-demographic phenomena are visible in the program area, which, thanks to undertaking cross-border cooperation, can be a starting point for joint actions and tackling challenges. Common problems, especially in the field of health protection, can be solved jointly by partner regions. In the area of health, the following challenges are observed: 1. An aging society and unfavourable demographic forecasts in both regions, an increasing number of post-working age people with multiple diseases. Cancer is one of the main causes of death, especially in the context of an aging population and limited access to health care. In some areas of both regions, access to preventive examinations is limited. 2. Low awareness of preventive health care: in both regions, the public’s awareness of the need for regular preventive examinations is too low. Education and information campaigns are essential to convince residents to participate in such activities. 3. Low level of interregional cooperation in the field of health: interregional cooperation in the field of health is insufficient so far and shows great potential. The project aims to create a platform for mutual exchange of experiences and best practices in the field of preventive health care. Thanks to the planned infrastructural activities and additional equipment, the health infrastructure will be supported, which will improve and access health care in the program area and will contribute to mitigating the effects of unfavourable demographic changes in the common area. Overall objective of the project is establishing the Center for Disease Prevention and Health Promotion in Lublin and Center for Center of Preventive Examinations and Rehabilitation in Lutsk, what will contribute to increasing access to broadly understood preventive care in cross-border areas, constituting a significant step in solving problems in the field of public health. Centers for Preventive Research will serve as key places to achieve this go
