perspective
2021 - 2027

The project addresses the problem of and growing number and intensity of large-scale forest fires caused by global climate change in the UA-PL cross-border region, and the insufficient capacity of fire services on both sides of the border to to provide an effective and coordinated response. Based on available data combined with the the results of daily activities of fire rescue and emergency services of both states, this process will be progressing. The project aims to prevent ecosystem disturbance and species loss, economic damage in the Carpathian region due to large-scale forest fires by creating new and integrating existing regional instruments to prevent and respond to global threats, by creating a unique transboundary regional UA-PLnetwork. This network will be based on common solutions, which componentswill complement each other as part of one response and protection mechanism: – developing Joint Instruction, setting unified standard operating procedures on interaction for Ukrainian and Polish fire and emergency response institutions; – establishing common system for Monitoring and Elimination of Forest Fires in the Carpathian region – multifunctional Geographic Information System; – upgrading existing infrastructure and equipment for forest fire management and their integration into a single network of centers and subcentres forming 24 hour monitoring and control clusters – holding Joint trainings. The Project activities will promote adaptation to climate change adaptation, risk prevention and disaster As a result of the project implementation the following indicators will be achieved: RCO81. Participations in joint actions across borders: 86 participants of 2 conferences; 500 participants of the trainings RCO116. Jointly developed solutions: 2 solutions will be developed: Joint Instruction and GIS system for joint monitoring PLRO041. Number of units of rescue services equipped with rescue and disaster recovery equipment – 5 units PLRO042. Number of purc
