The common challenge and main goal of the project is to support access to clean water and sustainable water management in the Polish-Ukrainian region and to improve the quality of people’s lives by developing sewage infrastructure and improving sewage management. The subject of the project is the expansion of the sewage system and modernization of the sewage treatment plant, the development of a practical guide on water protection issues and good practices in this regard, the creation of a cross-border platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of water and sewage management, an information and educational campaign. Positive benefits that the construction of the sewage system and the modernization of the sewage treatment plant will bring to the partners and the Polish-Ukrainian region: *improvement of the natural environment (wastewater will be properly treated before discharge into the environment, which will contribute to the protection of aquatic ecosystems and diversity) *improving the quality of people’s lives (safe disposal of pollutants is crucial to protect public health as it prevents the spread of infectious diseases that can be transmitted through sewage) * economic development of the area (good sewage infrastructure is an important aspect for economic development, attracting investments, creating jobs and increasing the attractiveness of the place) The project will strengthen cross-border cooperation between the Konopnica Commune and Terebovlia and strengthen people-to-people contacts.
