The project is a response to similar problems identified by the Partners in the PL/UA border region related to insufficient green areas in urbanized areas or their low quality, which directly affects issues of biodiversity conservation in inhabited areas, the occurrence of the urban heat island phenomenon, spatial order, or the implementation of principles of sustainable development as a whole. Through the implementation of the project, the Partners also want to initiate and promote cross-border cooperation in the field of environmental protection, so that actions taken on both sides of the border are consistent with each other and jointly produce a synergetic effect. The main objective of the project is to strengthen the protection of existing green areas and increase the area of green spaces, as well as to preserve biodiversity in the urbanized region of the border through the renovation of 1 park and the construction of 1 park on the UA side as well as the construction of 9 pocket parks on the PL side.
