perspective
2021 - 2027

A common challenge in the Programme area that the partners intend to deal with is to improve the quantity and quality of the rescue and firefighting equipment and the training of fire brigades in order to counteract the observed climate changes and the natural disasters caused by them. The negative impacts of global climate change have intensified over the last few years. The number of fires is increasing, but also other events such as floods, storms, damage to buildings. Therefore, it is very important to improve the equipment of firefighters with modern equipment for fighting fires and removing local hazards. In addition to purchases, the experience of units, exercises on new equipment and joint learning and exchange of experiences among firefighters is very important. Project partners: Klukowo Commune, Czerwin Commune and Lutsk district are located in the areas with a lot of afforestation – for example in Czerwin Commune over 15% of the area are forests and floodplains with frequent floods. The main objective of the project is to strengthen the cooperation of rescue services operating on the cross border area, in order to more effectively respond to emerging threats of forest fires and to remove the effects of natural disasters such as floods, fires and storms. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: 1. Raising the level of equipping rescue units with specialized rescue and fire-fighting equipment. 2. Raising the level of knowledge and experience of 160 rescuers from the Klukowo and Czerwin communes and Lutsk district. 3. Tightening cooperation and exchange of experience of rescuers from the crossborder area in the field of fighting fires and natural disasters. As a result of the project, fire brigades operating on both sides of the border will be equipped with equipment to fight fires and the effects of natural disasters such as floods and storms. For this purpose, the partners will purchase 7 rescue and firefighting vehicles and Kivertsi City Council will purchase two motor pumps
