The project is aimed at strengthening and developing rescue teams of the State Emergency Service and medical rescue units in the cross-border area, which provide primary medical aid to victims, establishing cross-border cooperation of services and organizations working in medical and rescue field on both sides of the EU borders. The project aims to improve the response and quality of assistance provided by search and rescue services personnel of State Emergency Service and medical and rescue teams, provision of first aid to people in target region. Create a mechanism of transferring the acquired knowledge and skills to other regions, to introduce the experience of cooperation between rescuers of Zakarpattya and Lviv regions (UA) and medical – rescue teams (Wojewódzka Stacja Pogotowia Ratunkowego). The main project results: 1. Personnel of Zakarpattya and Lviv State Emergency Services, rescuers of the 2nd Special Rapid Response Center of the Emergency Service of Ukraine, and the medical and rescue teams of the Provincial Emergency Medical Service Station in Przemyśl improved their professional development to provide highly qualified primary medical aid, tactical medicine and first aid -192 instructors. 2. Improved material and technical capabilities of rescue units in UA and PL. Purchased rescue and medical equipment for rescue centres of Zakarpattya and Lviv State Emergency Services, 2nd Special Rapid Response Center of the Emergency Service of Ukraine, Provincial Emergency Medical Service Station in Przemyśl: ATVs, high mobility car with equipment to coordinate rescue operations, C.H.A.R.L.I.E. newborn phantom for cardiopulmonary resuscitation with an interactive ECG simulator, Phantom – head for intubation Ambu Airway Management Trainer cross-section, etc. The purchased rescue equipment will ensure prompt response to danger and qualified and quick provision of first aid to victims in the so-called “golden hour”. 3.
