Renovation of the facade of the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle in Szczecin – the heritage of the Pomeranian Dukes
Within the framework of the project implementation the following tasks were performed: replacement of the plaster on the facade, painting of the facades, replacement of the planking, downpipes and drainpipes into new ones, as well as renovation of sandstone details situated at the attic finials at the roof level, and modernisation of systems for draining rainwater from the roofs.
As a result of the implemented works co-financed from the European Union there will be a significant improvement in the technical condition of the Pomeranian Dukes’ Caste – one of the most characteristic places of cultural heritage in the east Pomerania region, which fulfils an important culture-forming role in the region and has a strong position on the tourist map of Poland.
The performed works will contribute to decreasing the costs of immediate repairs of the facade, increasing in the number of tourists visiting the Castle and the number of events organised at the Castle’s courtyards.
Due to the Castle renovation it will be possible to execute its basic tasks, which include dissemination of artistic values related to the cultural tradition of the region and tourism and cultural exchange with the neighbouring regions.
