Modernization of rapid urban railway rolling stock in Tricity
The goal of the project is to facilitate branch-based sustainability of transport in the Pomeranian Voivodship by finding an alternative to too intensive development of individual transport. This can be done by affecting the attractiveness of the SKM by offering high-performance rolling stock operating this route.
The direct, material effect of the project are four thoroughly modernized electric multiple units of the EN57 series used for passenger services on railway lines No. 202, 250 and 9.
Rolling stock modernization will increase the average daily number of trains launched. The results achieved after the end of the project also include a reduction in the level of energy consumption by modernized vehicles and a reduction in noise levels.
As a result of the modernization carried out, travel comfort will also improve (e.g. by reducing the level of vibration while driving, increasing the aesthetics of the passenger compartment) and the level of security in the units (e.g. by installing a monitoring system) will increase.
