This form of recreation has been enjoying increasing interest for many years. With a view to enthusiasts of such activity, the Lublin poviat, in cooperation with the Lubartów and Rycki poviats, as well as the Strzyżewice commune and the City of Lublin, has implemented a project whose main goal was to designate and mark the route, and to disseminate information about the route, about 180 km, as well as and tourist attractions, monuments and interesting places located in the surrounding municipalities.
On the project website, among others, such information as: map of the trail, addresses of canoe rentals and rafting companies, or a dozen or so audio guides with information about the most interesting places in the valleys of Bystrzyca and Wieprz. The interactive map available in the “Virtual Walk” tab contains nearly 50 spatial panoramas presenting the most interesting places on the trail. As part of the project, cameras were installed in three places above Bystrzyca, the image of which is transmitted to the website.
Infrastructure was also taken care of – in four towns: Strzyżewice, Pszczela Wola, Piotrowice and Prawiedniki, small kayak harbors were built to facilitate the descent and launching of kayaks.
