Rebuilding of Hoffmann Square is one of the most important road investments in Toruń, carried out with the use of EU funds. Before the project, due to its poor legibility, numerous collisions and high traffic intensity, the intersection was one of the most dangerous points of the city. The decision to rebuild the place also resulted from the need to adapt it to the new conditions of spatial development planning, associated with the construction of a sports and entertainment hall at Gen. J. Bema Street. Thanks to the project, the difficult and dangerous intersection turned into a modern roundabout with an island with a diameter of 56 m, which can be accessed by drivers on modernized roadways with two lanes in each direction. As part of the reconstruction of road infrastructure around the traffic circle, new sidewalks and asphalt bicycle paths were created. The road workers modernized the rainwater drainage system, replaced the lighting and carried out greenery works. Due to the need to ensure greater safety, the inlets to the crossroads were also rebuilt and the track was modernized, and new traffic lights were installed.
