Construction of a publicly accessible Intermodal Container Terminal with infrastructure in Kąty Wrocławskie
The investment being the subject of the project concerned the construction of a publicly accessible Intermodal Container Terminal with infrastructure in Kąty Wrocławskie.The project was carried out in the years 2007 – 2015. The investment was co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment, Actions 7.4 Intermodal transport.
The project included the construction of an administrative and social building, a hardened yard for container storage, including storage of containers containing hazardous materials, roads and parking spaces, a railway siding as well as a sewage, electric and teletechnical network. Container transport equipment has also been purchased – two new reachstackers with a lifting capacity of 45 t and an RTG crane with a lifting capacity of 45 t. The terminal has also been equipped with a new system for monitoring and operating entry gates.
After the construction was completed, the operational area of the Terminal in Kąty Wrocławskie was about 5 ha, while the storage area: 2700 TEU. A new railway siding consisting of two tracks with a total usable length of 764.5 m was put at the disposal of railway carriers.
