perspective
2007 - 2013

The project was aimed at increasing the tourist attractiveness of the Capital City of Warsaw. Two main tasks were carried out:

  1. Fort Włochy – arrangement for outdoor recreation and sports area, stage II.

Fort V Włochy is one of the forts of Warsaw Fortress (a complex of fortification buildings erected in the 19th century Warsaw by the tsarist authorities). It was built as the main fire fort, used to protect the Warsaw-Vienna railway and the western section of the Fortress. The second stage of its revitalization covered restoration of the historical outlines of the main embankment and moat, construction (or reconstruction of existing) of fortress roads and pedestrian paths, arranging greenery around the building and making ramps for the people with disabilities.

2. Construction of a bicycle path in the Park ‘Przy Bażantarni’ (‘At Pheasantry’)

The name of the park and the street  comes from Bażantarnia (Pheasantry) – a building that does not exist today, built by the King Jan III Sobieski to make hunting more attractive (pheasant breeding was carried out in the nearby forests). Along the park grounds, between the streets of the National Education Commission and Rosoła, over half a kilometer-long  bicycle path was built, being one of the elements of the investment in the park, which involved as well the construction of park exits, parking lots, pavements and sports areas, playgrounds, skate park. The bicycle path has facilities for the people with the disabilities, including the visually impaired.

Thanks to equipping the city’s cultural heritage resources with new sport and recreational functions, the quality of leisure for the inhabitants of the districts of Włochy and Ursynów, as well as other Warsaw residents and the tourists increased.
