Draining rainwater and groundwater from the area including the passage under the PKP viaduct on the section from Kujawska Street to Dybowska Street in Toruń
As part of the project, the existing stormwater drainage system was developed with facilities for treatment and drainage of rainwater from Kujawska, Dybowska and Podgórska streets in Toruń to the Vistula river. Before the project was carried out, during the time of high water in the Vistula, it was not possible to drain the rainwater from the floodplains, which caused local flooding. The road crossing under the PKP viaduct, notoriously flooded by river waters retreating on the canal, was particularly burdened with flood risk. Floods often stopped car traffic under the overpass and caused total paralysis in the left-bank part of Toruń. The project significantly improved road safety.
