Implementing the results of R&D work in order to offer textiles with new, improved visual and usage properties.
Project completion period:01.01.2016 – 30.02.2018
The Biliński Sp.j. Textile Plant is one of the largest companies in Europe providing textile enrichment services. The company represents the highest standard of complex finishing of knitted materials and fabrics – the Plant’s offer includes such services as dyeing, bleaching, washing, shearing, shaving, tumbling and digital printing.
The main aim of this project was to implement the results of research and development work previously carried out by the Textile Plant in the field of modifying the structure of cellulose fibres in finished textiles.
For the purposes of this enterprise, the company made use of financial support in the form of EU funds under the SGOP 2014-2020 programme.
Realising this aim made it possible to launch an improved service on the domestic and European markets. New technology was developed for cellulose fibres (cotton, viscose), which enabled us to obtain new visual and usage properties for a product.
Textiles made from modified cellulose fibres are characterised by an improved sorption coefficient (fuller depth of colour), a reduced degree of piling and the maintaining of a very low level of shrinkage. This makes them soft and flowing to the touch with subtle shine.
Introducing the solution has led to a significant improvement in comfort of use of the product. The items are easier to maintain and less prone to crumpling, which has a major effect on customer satisfaction.
Realising the project involved investment in the necessary tools. A mercerising and bleaching machine was purchased, as were drier-stabilisers, a knitted fabric coater, an open-width tumbling machine, a compacting and sanforising machine, friction calendar and various types of dyeing apparatus.
The actions also involved a focus on making solutions as environmentally friendly as possible.
Quote:
“The Biliński Fabric Plant is the history of people and ideas. Concern for the customer, environment and our staff puts us at the top of Europe’s textile companies. With this approach, we can prove that it is possible to reconcile all of these if we keep the future in mind. Sustainable development is quite simply the optimal road to success.
Apart from that, care for the environment is a very important aspect for us. Reducing the negative effects of production is possible thanks to new technologies. By increasing the sorption of fabric dye, we obtain a reduction in the intensity of discolourations, which means we use less dye per kilo of fibre. Intensifying the process means that all the machines consume much less water. We have managed to limit utility use in the patented technology to around 40% compared to traditional processes.”
